Climbing your way Thin: What I have Learned

Believe it or not, one of the best ways to lose weight is by rock climbing. A lot of the people I’ve told about my relatively new hobby say that they could never imagine doing it themselves, but it’s not all that hard. If you want to lose a significant amount of weight, it is important that you look into what rock climbing has to offer.

Over the years I have tried so many different things to lose weight, but none of them really did much for me. Rock climbing is by far the fastest way I have come across to lose weight, and it’s a lot of fun! I have gone rock climbing dozens of times now, and it keeps getting better every time. Consider that you can burn anywhere from 500 to 900 calories per HOUR while rock climbing, it’s no wonder why so many people have started doing it.

There are quite a few people out there who seem to believe that you cannot go rock climbing if you are a bigger person, but this simply isn’t true, depending on just how big you are. Those who are 20 or 30 pounds overweight can certainly engage in this very fun and healthy activity. If you are a much bigger person, you might want to try starting off with indoor wall climbing before you take it outside.

I used to be a lot bigger than I am now, and beginning with indoor climbing really helped me to move on to the real thing. Don’t let your current weight stop you from doing this, because it is very possible no matter what. I have taken numerous overweight people rock climbing with me, and most of them can’t believe how fun it really is.

The fact is that rock climbing is one of the best cardiovascular workouts you can get. It will help you burn calories much faster than running on a treadmill, cycling or even swimming. While all of these activities are great forms of exercise, they can’t hold a handle to rock climbing in terms of how fast you are able to burn calories. This activity can also help you to build strength and power, which is a great thing.

I used to have a big gut and man boobs, but now I am actually starting to develop pectoral muscles and abs. There was a point in my life where I never thought I would look and feel how I do today, and the progress I have made is all because of rock climbing.

When I started rock climbing, I weighed a total of 250 pounds. After a year of becoming obsessed with this new physical activity, I now weigh 220 pounds. I have to admit that I still need to make some more progress with my weight loss, but I am well on my way. A lot of people get discouraged about weight loss because it takes them so long to see results, but rock climbing will help you get to where you want to be fast.

One of the truly unique things about rock climbing as a form of weight loss exercise is that it combines aerobic and anaerobic workouts. When it comes right down to it, there is nothing I would rather do more than rock climb when it comes to getting fit while having fun. I understand that this isn’t something that will appeal to everyone, but it is an incredible workout that could help you get to your goal weight in a matter of months.
